| The Nutrition Works Weight
Management Program is a customized, in-depth 8-week program offered to individuals who
need help in losing weight. The program combines nutrition education with motivational
strategies and practical tools to help clients achieve their goals. Individualized
follow-up programs are available for those who have longer-term needs. Clients learn to control portions, to eat a wider variety
of nutritious foods, to practice sensible eating behaviors, and to increase their activity
level. This lifelong approach to eating well is based on the dietary plans developed for
the nationally-acclaimed, research-based DASH diet
Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.
Counseling sessions are tailored to individual
patient needs. Topics may include emotional eating, self-image and self-esteem, low-fat
cooking, and restaurant dining.
The program is designed to follow clients for a
minimum of 6 months after they have reached their weight goal. |
